托马斯·曼（Thomas Mann）
1875年6月6日生于 德国 吕贝克一个富裕 家庭 。1929年，以其形成于19世纪末、20纪初的第一部长篇 小说 《布登勃洛克一家》荣膺诺贝尔 文学 奖。1924年出版了他的另一部伟大小说《魔山》。1933年因 政治 原因离开 纳粹 德国。他首先流亡 瑞士 ，然后又流亡到 美国 。在1938至1952年 生活 于美国期间，完成了四部曲《约瑟和他的兄弟们》，继而又一举写下了他晚年最为不朽的巨著《浮士德博士》，并于1947年出版。1952年托马斯·曼返回瑞士定居，1955年8月12日一代文豪在苏黎世逝世，享年80岁。
